In collaboration with the Wayne State University (WSU) Nutrition and Food Science (NFS) Department I developed these materials while working for the Detroit Health Department in order to assist with the standardization of food literacy and nutrition education content delivered at six partner locations. Previously materials were very unequal with community groups utilizing WebMD and health systems employing registered dietitians. Student “good food ambassadors” were trained to systematically deliver these materials with the same content for all partner sites in order to ensure fidelity of nutrition information shared with Fresh Prescription participants.
