Counties with higher obesity prevalence tend to have schools with higher student-teacher ratios (Wayne County). This could demonstrate that counties with lower obesity rates have at least adequate school funding to be able to keep a lower student-teacher ratio, which could represent general stability of a county.
There is growing research that school-based obesity interventions can be the most effective since a child spends so much time at school and in some instances receives the majority of their daily food at school.
