In my undergraduate studies one of my areas of focus was international development in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria related to the oil industry and it’s relationship with the government. My research was specifically focused on the Bayelsa State (relatively newly formed), which has a much lower GDP than neighboring States although it houses more oil industry operations.
