During the government shutdown of 2013 I explored some international data. It was an interesting exercise to look at the Census from another country and work to join the data to geographic areas.
I found it interesting to pair population numbers with density of Starbucks locations. The Starbucks brand, not surprisingly, is clustered in Taiwan’s three major cities/ counties. The only anomaly was the Starbucks cluster in the capitol, Taipei, which has a lower population than the surrounding county, New Taipei City. It’s likely that more people live outside the city and work inside the city as well as higher tourist numbers in Taipei.
